Getting to the start

Goodman Ranch Sycamore Canyon Preserve, Poway, CA (preserve straddles the Poway/Lakeside area).

Parking is NOT allowed in the immediate start/finish area — runners/spectators must park along the road outside and may need to walk up to half a mile in.

No public transit;

rural preserve, car access only.

Getting to the finish

Same as start — loop course finishing at Goodman Ranch Sycamore Canyon Preserve.

All distances (100K, 50K, Half Marathon) use the same loop start/finish area;

hard cutoff requires runners out of the park shortly after 10PM.

READY TO RUN

Sycamore Canyon registers through UltraSignup, with three events — the 100K, 50K, and half marathon —

and both the 100K and 50K can also be run as a 4-person relay in addition to solo entry.

A notable feature is that solo entry in the 100K requires prior experience completing a distance of at least 50K,

and an early-start option is available for runners expected to take longer to finish.

Start times are staggered by event.

Based on the previous year, the 100K early start was at 4:30 AM, the regular 100K start at 5:00 AM,

the 100K/50K relay and solo 50K at 6:00 AM, and the half marathon at 7:00 AM.

The race has a cutoff of 10:00 PM, after which runners must leave the park,

so 100K participants in particular need to manage their pace with this time limit in mind.

The course uses a loop course within the Goodan Ranch Sycamore Canyon Preserve east of San Diego.
