Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“My first road race felt pretty good!”
At the 2025 Panasonic Taipei City Run 12.5km, the runner worried about finishing but kept going, enjoying the thrill of passing other participants. Blistered and bruised toes and postrace dizziness prompted plans to prepare sports drink and spare shoes more carefully next time.

Happy Lee chased pacer up the hills at the Panasonic Taipei City Run 12.5km and began to struggle, but slowed down and kept running without walking. A final push brought a finish averaging 7 minutes per 1km and a sense of improved fitness since the previous race.

EasyCard (悠遊卡)
MRT station ticket machines and service counters, or convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Hi-Life, OK Mart) — ask at the cashier; many locations are open 24/7. Works directly at the gates
Alternative: Taipei Pass 1-day NT$180, 2-day NT$310, 3-day NT$440, 5-day NT$700 (unlimited MRT + city bus rides) — Worth it only if you're taking roughly 6 or more MRT/bus rides in a single day, since a typical single MRT fare runs about NT$20-30. The NT$100 EasyCard fee is a non-refundable card cost with no stored value included — you top it up separately in NT$100/500/1,000 increments.
As of July 1, 2026, Taipei Metro's official site confirms tap-in/tap-out with physical contactless bank cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, UnionPay, Diners Club, Discover) or linked mobile wallets now works directly at fare gates — this is a very recent rollout, so EasyCard is a good backup for buses or locations where it may not yet be fully supported. If returning an EasyCard for refund, the remaining balance is refunded minus a NT$20 handling fee (within 3 months); the initial NT$100 is not refunded.
For Taipei's Panasonic City Run, use the EasyCard for MRT and bus travel, purchasable for NT$100 at any MRT station or convenience store and easily topped up at 7-Eleven or FamilyMart counters. It also covers YouBike bike-share for shorter last-mile hops around the course area.
No contactless bank card option exists yet, so a physical EasyCard is the standard choice for visitors.

The official registration period ran from 12:00 PM on May 12, 2026, to 5:00 PM on July 9.
Since the start is divided into early-morning waves, many participants arrive early to prepare.
Times are local to Taipei. Check the latest official information before the race.
