The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
It is held the day before the marathon.
Both races carry a World Athletics Elite Label.
Half marathon has been held regularly in Tallinn since 2000, ahead of the marathon's regular launch in 2010.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“The course, the atmosphere, and the city itself make it unforgettable, even if this time, it wasn’t my best day.”Adrian Matei finished the 2025 Tallinn Half-Marathon in 2:26. He said the tough patches came from a late breakfast and a short warm-up before the start, plus a fast pace on the early downhill, but he got through on gels and water. He also praised the flat course, water stations every 4K, gels at the 12K mark, and the bands and crowd support.
“But over all I can say I am satisfied.”The runner started the first half marathon with a girlfriend and increased the pace after 10 km, but signs of cramping in the right calf appeared after 18 km, so the runner slowed down and finished within the target range.
“Just have fun.”Rallih_ finished the 2019 Tallinn half marathon in 1:37:36. Although lower back pain had kept them from training enough, they held their target pace early on, but their body began to give out after 14K. They fought leg pain over the final 3K and finished thanks to the support of other runners and the crowd.
“I couldn’t overtake any more people today.”
Starting from the back due to late registration, the runner lost time to the early congestion. The runner kept overtaking through the narrowing course and picked up the pace over the final 1 km to finish the 10 km in 59:41.

Runners start · local time — September 12, 2026 — 9:00 a.m. start
The half marathon takes place on September 12, one day before the full marathon at the Tallinn Marathon,
on the same weekend as Estonia's biggest annual marathon event.
Held regularly since 2000, it's one of the longest-running races on the city's calendar.
World Athletics recognizes both the Tallinn Marathon and the half marathon as Elite Label road races.
September in Tallinn marks the start of fall on the Baltic.
The monthly average is around 12°C, but the range is wide: the September record high is 28.0°C and the record low is -4.1°C,
and fog is common at this time of year.

Tallinn's public transport accepts contactless bank card or phone wallet tap directly on the validator,
no local card needed, at roughly the same price as the local card.
A single ride bought by contactless tap is about 2 euros.
