From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Anyway, I finished safely.”
After covering 32 km the previous year, the runner completed the half marathon this year. The runner mistakenly wore different shoes from the pair they had prepared, and the heat and repeated climbs and descents were tougher than expected. The runner wrote that they were satisfied with the event's relatively relaxed atmosphere and the souvenirs.

Read the original on 네이버 블로그“I set a new PB with a time of 47 minutes.”
The runner ran the 10km at Kumho Hwasun Resort, set a new personal best of 47 minutes, and finished 5th. Watching an acquaintance up ahead kept them pushing to the end, and while the finisher medal design was nice, they were disappointed that the daetongbap (rice cooked in bamboo) they'd been looking forward to wasn't there.

Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
The Packet Pickup method of the Mudeungsan Geomarathon has not been announced.
The actual assembly point is NOT Gwangju city itself — it is Kumho Hwasun Spa Resort, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (about 40 min-1 hr drive from downtown Gwangju). Race starts 07:00 Oct 10, 2026. No rail/subway connection; no shuttle bus found advertised.
IMPORTANT CITY despite the mountain-name branding, actual start venue sits in Hwasun-gun, not Gwangju city proper. Foreign runners should plan on taxi/rental car from Gwangju.
Course loops through the Mudeungsan region (Gwangju/Damyang/Hwasun); finish presumed near the same resort area.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
October mornings get quite chilly.
Bring a layer to wear while waiting at the start, and if you're racing in short sleeves, use arm sleeves to stay warm early on.
With distances up to half marathon, start the first 5 km more conservatively than your goal pace;
holding pace after 15 km is the key.
Mudeungsan Mountain in Gwangju is a famous hiking spot all year round,
and the National Asia Culture Center and Yangnim-dong Modern Street are also worth a visit.
Times are local to Gwangju. Check the latest official information before the race.
