The road to your own record

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
Course is a single, exactly one-mile loop on mostly flat terrain.
The paved road contains about 5 percent crushed gravel, and the course is lit at night, so a headlamp is not required.
The event runs from May 10 to 16 at Sussex County Fairgrounds.
The 144-hour (six-day), 72-, 48-, 24-, 12- and 6-hour races, plus the 50km and marathon, all use the same loop.
The marathon course is an officially certified course and a Boston Marathon qualifier.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I think this strategy worked really well for staying in the moment and taking care of myself.”Rick Glew rested and stretched regularly to monitor his condition during Three Days at the Fair's 48-hour event. Conversations with fellow runners and a final-morning push helped him reach 108 miles.
“One of my favorite things about this race was how compressed everything was.”Lila Gaudrault says each lap of the 12-hour event at Three Days at the Fair offered supplies and fellow runners' encouragement. After repeated lows and recoveries, she accelerated at the end to finish 74 miles.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
All events run on the same one-mile loop.
It is a flat loop certified under number NJ24025JLW, with paved road mixed with approximately 5 percent crushed gravel.
The marathon and 50km have a separate start line to make up the distance.
The marathon course is certified as NJ13502JHP, and the 50km course as NJ13503JHP.
The 50-mile race covers exactly 50 laps, and the 100-mile race exactly 100 laps.
The start/finish area is directly below the timing equipment.
The aid station and kitchen are in a large building in the middle of the grounds, and the course passes in front of the restroom building.
The restrooms are heated and include showers.
Laps are recorded by the MyLaps ProChip system.
Each time a runner steps on the mat, it counts as one lap, and only completed laps are added to the total distance.
Current lap counts and rankings are displayed on the on-site scoreboard.
Pacer is not permitted.
The organizer explains that the course is straightforward and difficult to get lost on, and that runners are expected to run under their own power.
However, registered participants may run together freely regardless of event.
Trekking poles are prohibited.
The fairgrounds host equestrian competitions, poultry shows, horticultural exhibitions, farmers markets, and other events even during the race.
Only the course area is closed to the public.

No train/subway/bus service to venue
Venue is the Sussex County Fairgrounds, 37 Plains Rd, Augusta, NJ 07822 — a rural fairgrounds site in northwest New Jersey with no nearby rail or fixed-route bus service. Runners drive or camp on-site; parking is directly adjacent to the certified 1-mile flat loop course, and on-site tent/RV camping is available.
Confirmed date: multi-day ultra event ("3 Days at the Fair") spanning May 10-16, 2027 per gotrail.run, with May 10 as the DB-listed start date — matches. Genuinely rural venue with no public transit; this is expected for this type of race.
Same as start (on-site 1-mile loop course, finish at fairgrounds)
Finish is at the same fairgrounds loop-course area as the start.
No organizer shuttle bus (none needed — parking is adjacent to the course).
