Introduced as a race combining sports and history.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Needless to say, I was really pleased.”
Despite worries about inadequate preparation, the runner comfortably covered the flat early section of the Asunción International Marathon. Finishing a 38th marathon in 2 hours 48 minutes 14 seconds brought great satisfaction at a better-than-expected time.

At the Asunción International Marathon, the runner moved up the field despite a strong headwind and finished 5th overall. A time of 2 hours 44 minutes 51 seconds and the placing became an unforgettable achievement in an amateur running career.

Cut-off

Once the final time limit (6 hours) has elapsed, all course checkpoints are removed and roads reopened; a closure vehicle follows the rear of the field and collects runners who abandon.

The competition is a flat and fast course that starts and ends at the riverside promenade in downtown Asunción,
the Costanera de Asunción, at Muelle Deportivo, and has been approved by World Athletics and AIMS.

In the entire course section, aid station and sports drink supply stations will be installed at intervals of approximately 2.5 km,
and water supply facilities will also be provided at the departure and arrival points.
The 10km event starts separately from the same location at 06:15, 45 minutes after the start of the pool half marathon.
Distance signs are installed every 1 km.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
