The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
A 10km road race starting on the afternoon of the final day of the year.
Both the start and finish are on Carrer Selva de Mar, in front of Plaça Ramon Calsina.
Course is flat and precisely measured.
Barcelona City Council organises it through the Barcelona Sports Institute, with technical operations handled by Agrupació Atlètica Catalunya.
Both registered and unregistered runners may enter, with no age limit.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Ultimately, I always think about running and all the good things it gave me. I need to try to get those things back.”
Pain and a busy schedule had reduced the runner's training before the 2025 Cursa dels Nassos. Focusing on a comfortable finish and enjoying the atmosphere rather than a time, they completed it in 56 minutes.

En definitiva, siempre tengo en mente el running y todo lo que me dió, todo positivo, y esas cosas se tienen que intentar recuperar.

A Nassos 10K participant assessed the early congestion, picking up the pace in the second half, the closer bag storage and the toilet queues.

The Cursa dels Nassos begins and ends at Barcelona's Olympic Port,
tracing a 10-kilometer urban course through the city on the afternoon of December 31—hours before the city's New Year celebrations begin.
The race takes its name from “l'home dels nassos,” a Catalan folk character said to appear only on the last day of the year.
The event dates to 1999, when it launched as the Sant Silvestre Barcelonesa under Domingo López,
technical director of Club Natació Montjuïc, and drew 1,710 runners in its first year.
A 2010 dispute with Barcelona's city government split the race: López relocated his original event to Sant Cugat del Vallès,
while the city continued organizing the Barcelona race independently under its current name, now run by the Institut Barcelona Esports.
Since 2020, an elite 5K has run alongside the traditional 10K.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.

Carrer de la Selva de Mar (between Ramon Turró and Passeig Taulat, in front of Plaça Ramon Calsina), Barcelona — Metro L4 (yellow line) Selva de Mar station
Start/finish time and exact road-closure map for 2026 not yet published; the 2025 edition started at 17:15 (afternoon/early-evening race, typical for this event) — treat as indicative pending official 2026 program. Access explicitly recommended via Metro L4 to Selva de Mar.
Same location as start — Carrer de la Selva de Mar (loop course near the coastline)
The 10K loop covers Barcelona's Poblenou/coastline area, going out via Carrer de la Marina/Carrer de la Llacuna and returning via Diagonal to Carrer de la Selva de Mar.
19 regular TMB/city bus lines are diverted or curtailed on race day (D20, H14, H16, V13, V15, V17, V19, V21, V23, V25, V27, V29, V31, 6, 7, 47, 59, 120, 136, 192, and the Barcelona Bus Turístic red route), so metro is the more reliable option. Very large event (13,000+ bibs sold in 2025, ~14,000 expected for 2026) — expect crowded platforms and pedestrian congestion.
T-Casual (loaded onto a T-mobilitat card)
TMB metro station vending machines, the T-mobilitat mobile app, tobacconist shops (estancos), and TMB customer service offices — you first get a €1 cardboard T-mobilitat card, then load the T-Casual (10-ride) fare onto it. Works directly at the gates
Alternative: Hola BCN Travel Card from about €16.62 for 2 days (48h), scaling up to 5-day (120h) versions — Worth it if you're riding often across several days and want the airport metro transfer bundled in, since a couple of guides note the L9 Sud airport surcharge isn't reliably covered by a plain contactless tap. TMB rolled out open-loop contactless payment (bank card, phone, watch) across the whole metro, bus and tram network by 2026 — each tap buys one single ticket at the standard fare, with no discount for volume.
The traditional T-Casual (formerly T-10) now has to be loaded onto a separate physical T-mobilitat card rather than being a standalone paper ticket, which adds a step for tourists. One third-party guide states the L9 Sud airport line runs a separate, higher fare zone not covered by contactless tap-in — this specific restriction was not confirmed on TMB's own page, so treat it as unverified.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The race is capped by demand rather than course difficulty.
Recent editions have sold out, and organisers say more than 13,500 bibs have been claimed for the current edition—a record for the event.
Runners aged 16 and over may enter, whether or not they are registered with an athletics federation.
Because the race takes place on the afternoon of December 31, conditions fall within Barcelona's cooler season rather than its Mediterranean summer.
Winter afternoons typically reach 12–18°C, well below the 27–31°C summer temperatures the city is known for.
Factor that into your clothing choice for a race held a few hours before the midnight celebrations begin.
The 10K field runs alongside a separate elite 5K division, introduced in 2020, so check which start corral and distance apply to your entry.
The race finishes several hours before New Year's Eve celebrations fill the same part of the city,
but runners and spectators should still expect the Olympic Port area to remain busy well beyond the finish line.
Times are local to Barcelona. Check the latest official information before the race.
