“In the end, with a gap of about 50 m, I finish in 1 hour 25 minutes 27 seconds.”

Read the original on I run for my life“The wind in the second half made it hard for me to maintain my lap pace.”
At the Jubilo Iwata Memorial Marathon, frequent changes in elevation and wind in the second half made the runner’s target pace hard to hold. An official half marathon finish of 1 hour 16 minutes 24 seconds earned sixth place among men in their 40s and a first award at this event.

The Jubilo Iwata Memorial Marathon is a competition that connects professional sports and civic running in Iwata City, Japan.
It is operated by the Iwata Sports Association, and Jubilo Iwata and Iwata City participate together.
Held around Yamaha Stadium, the local sports culture known for soccer games is expanded to include road running.
The organizers set the purpose of the race as ‘Let’s fill Iwata with smiles,’ and created a place where runners who are challenging records and citizens who are competing for the first time can mingle together.
In addition to half marathon, there are 5km and 3km events.
There is a short distance category for elementary school students and their families, as well as Fun Run, which does not involve recording times.
In the family category, the meaning of running together was incorporated into the competition format by having two people hold hands and pass finish.
In the 5km and 3km races, costume participation and separate awards are held,
so the competitive nature of half marathon and the festival atmosphere of the short distance are combined in one event.
Local sports teams also shape the character of the competition.
Jubilo Iwata players will cheer on the participants at the stadium, and Shizuoka Blue Revs and Shizuoka SSU Bonita will also participate in the event.
Professional club officials participate in soccer and rugby experiences for children, creating opportunities for them to experience sports other than running.
As this is a competition that emphasizes the support of the entire region and citizen participation,
you can get up close to Iwata's soccer identity and the atmosphere of daily sports that families can enjoy together.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Details on registration and athlete bibs could not be confirmed in the publicly available information.
Since advance mailing or same-day collection is common for races in Japan, check the event guide (participant notification).

JR Iwata Station
Same access as start — Entetsu Bus from Iwata Station to Yumeria Iriguchi stop, then ~5 min walk.
No dedicated marathon-only shuttle confirmed;
regular Entetsu public bus line serves the venue from the station.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
If you're traveling by rail, it's a good idea to make your itinerary based on the walking route from Mikuriya Station on the Tokaido Line to the event venue.
The organizers provide walking directions from the station and explain that some of the access roads overlap with course of the short-distance events,
so it may be difficult to cross the road during the race.
Even after arriving at the station, it is best to allow some time to enter the venue.
Bib and timing chip, participation information, and souvenir exchange vouchers will be sent by mail in advance, so please take them with you.
You can use the on-site gear check, but you must manage your valuables yourself.
If you have applied for parking, it is best to check the designated parking ticket you received with bib and then move to that parking lot.
Parking tickets cannot be passed on to others, and the organizers advise you to arrive early in anticipation of traffic congestion in the area.
For bicycles and motorcycles, please follow the Yamaha Motor Communication Plaza parking lot instructions.
If you and your companion have different means of transportation,
it is helpful to set up a walking route from the station and a parking spot for your vehicle to join the event venue.
Times are local to Iwata. Check the latest official information before the race.
