THE DREAM
The starting signal goes at 6:00 a.m. Kaohsiung Harbor 10K & half marathon is an event that starts before dawn in southern Taiwan in December.
The 2026 event is confirmed for December 13.
Both the start and finish are at Qiaotou Gong 7 Park in Qiaotou District, Kaohsiung,
returning to the same location and keeping the route for bag drop-off and collection short.
There are three distances: the 21 km half marathon, 10 km, and 3 km.
The 21 km starts first at 6:00 a.m., followed by the 3 km at 6:15 a.m. and the 10 km at 6:30 a.m.
Time limit is 3 hours 30 minutes for the 21 km, 2 hours 30 minutes for the 10 km, and 1 hour for the 3 km.
The early start helps runners avoid the midday heat, but it also means you should work out your travel and bedtime plans for the previous night in advance.
Entry fee costs 1,180 Taiwan dollars for half marathon and 1,080 Taiwan dollars for the 10 km.
A separate timing chip deposit of 100 Taiwan dollars is charged and refunded when you return the chip.
Registration opened on June 30, 2026.
This is a separate event from the large international marathon held in Kaohsiung,
so it is safest to check the organiser’s platform and the event name when registering.
The official event page will announce how to collect bib and timing chip.
It is worth checking once more during race week.

Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Participation materials (numbered packets, timing chip, souvenirs) are sent in bulk via courier during the week of the competition, so there is no on-site prior pickup (Expo).
Only the completion souvenirs can be received at the finish line by presenting the numbered packet on the day of the competition.
Get an iPASS card (Kaohsiung's local IC card) from any MRT station or convenience store — it covers MRT, buses, and even convenience-store purchases, and there's no reliable foreign contactless bank-card tap-in like Taipei has.
Kaohsiung Port Pier 16-18 Plaza (高雄港16-18號碼頭廣場)
Schedule: 05:00 check-in/gathering + bag check opens, 05:50 move to start line, 06:00 21K start, 06:10 10.5K start, 06:20 6K start, 06:30 start line closes to late starters.
Race date: Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Kaohsiung Port Pier 16-18 Plaza (高雄港16-18號碼頭廣場) -- same venue as start (loop course)
Course closes / runners are swept back to the venue at 09:30.
The official 'Transit Info' tab covers only parking guidance (arrive 1+ hour early due to heavy parking demand;
no residence/storefront/turn/red-curb parking) -- no specific bus or MRT lines/stations are named, only generic advice to use public transportation.
Course uses open public roads with normal traffic;
major intersections have volunteer traffic control.
No dedicated public/spectator shuttle bus named.
Runners who cannot finish within the time limit must follow marshal instructions and board a course sweep vehicle (收容車) that returns them to the venue.

Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above
Alternative: Kaohsiung MRT 1-Day Pass NT$150 —
Worth it if you'll take more than about 4-5 MRT rides in a single day, otherwise pay-as-you-go with iPASS/EasyCard is cheaper.
iPASS originated in Kaohsiung and is widely accepted there;
EasyCard (Taipei's card) also works on Kaohsiung MRT.
Taipei MRT has rolled out EMV foreign contactless bank-card entry, but no verified source confirms the same for Kaohsiung MRT yet.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
When travelling to Chaotou Gongqi Park, use the official venue location on Chaoxin’er Road as your reference.
Bib, timing chip and the electronic participant information are sent by post in advance, so bring the items you receive.
Scan the QR code on bib to access the electronic participant information.
The venue map is also published in the official participant guide.
There is no separate registration procedure on the day;
gather behind the start arch.
The event schedule includes baggage-drop opening, so after arriving, find the baggage counter and move to the assembly area for your event.
If your group is eligible for a dedicated tent, check the group name on the map and agree on a meeting point.
Present bib at the finish to collect your finisher’s souvenir.
Keep bib with you until you have collected finisher medal, water and a towel.
The electronic finisher certificate is not printed on site, so check it online.
At intersections, vehicles travelling across the course may be allowed through briefly depending on traffic volume,
so follow the instructions of traffic officials and referees on the way back to the finish.
Times are local to Kaohsiung. Check the latest official information before the race.
