The Kashmir Marathon is organised by the Department of Tourism, J&K, and takes place in Srinagar, India.

The 2026 race will be its third edition, with full marathon and half marathon.

It is an AIMS-certified course measured by an AIMS/IAAF-accredited measurer.

The route passes Srinagar landmarks including Dal Lake and the Zabarwan hills, with the event aimed at promoting sports tourism.

2026 Kashmir Marathon Official course Information: Departs and arrives at Polo View, Srinagar and passes through Kashmir landscapes including Dal Lake, Boulevard Drive, Nishat Garden, and Hazratbal Shrine. The official guide describes it as course, a mixture of flat and hilly areas with a cumulative altitude of about 960m.

Full marathon passes Polo View, Zero Bridge, SKICC, Royal Springs Golf Course, Pari Mahal, Chashma Shahi, the Tulip Garden,

the Zabarwan Hills, Nishat Garden, Dal Lake and Hazratbal Shrine before continuing towards Kashmir University.

Half marathon follows the Jhelum riverfront, Lal Chowk, Dalgate, the Boulevard along Dal Lake, Nishat Garden, the Zabarwan Hills,

the Tulip Garden, Pari Mahal, Royal Springs Golf Course, SKICC, Shankaracharya Temple, Zero Bridge and Lal Chowk.

The course combines flat sections with hills throughout, with total elevation gain reported at approximately 960m.

Getting to the start

Polo View Market, Srinagar (per prior 2025/2nd-edition reporting; official 2026 raceInfo page was unreachable during this check, so treat as likely-but-unconfirmed for 2026)

No rail/metro in Srinagar. Nearest airport is Sheikh ul-Alam International (SXR), ~13km from city center; taxi/pre-arranged transport is the only practical option.

Half marathon route passes Dal Lake, Nishat Garden, Zabarwan Hills, Tulip Garden, Pari Mahal, Royal Springs Golf Course, Shankaracharya Temple, Zero Bridge, Lal Chowk; full marathon adds Boulevard Drive, Hazratbal Shrine, Mughal Gardens (~960m elevation gain). 2026 date (Oct 25, 3rd edition) confirmed via multiple news outlets (Kashmir Observer, Rising Kashmir, Greater Kashmir).

No public transit system comparable to a metro/subway -- plan on hotel-arranged taxi given road closures along the course on race morning.

No dedicated tourist transit card or contactless payment system was found. JKSRTC/private minibuses ('matadors') charge roughly ₹10-30 for in-city hops, paid in cash to the conductor.

Auto-rickshaws have no meters — negotiate before riding. Taxis run on meters; prepaid taxi counters exist at the airport and main bus stand.

New electric 'Smart City' buses are being introduced but there's no confirmed evidence of a reloadable smart card or foreign-card tap support on them.

Since you must present a copy of the receipt confirmation and government-issued ID upon receipt,

it is better to prepare the required documents together rather than relying solely on the reception screen on your phone.

Packet Pickup The location, Polo Ground, and the start and finish location, Polo View, are mentioned separately in the official information.

It's easy to organize your travel if you plan the route from your accommodation to the expo and the route to start line on the morning of the competition.

Designated parking areas will be provided around the start and finish, and organizers recommend carpooling and using public transportation.

At the aid station in course, water and energy drinks are provided, and medical support is also available.

Medical teams are also deployed at the start and finish areas.

Participant accommodation discounts are available by presenting a confirmation of receipt or participant identification information at the time of reservation.
