The Radisson Blu Larnaca International Marathon is an AIMS-certified race in Larnaca, Cyprus, reaching its ninth edition in 2026 after debuting in 2017.

It is regarded as Cyprus’s largest sporting event, attracting more than 13,000 participants, including around 3,000 international runners from 85 countries.

The title sponsor is the Radisson Blu Larnaca hotel.

The family-friendly programme comprises full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, a 5K corporate event and children’s events, for seven categories in total.

⚠️ The host city is Larnaca, not Nicosia;

the federation database contains an error in its location listing.

“This one felt tough.”

The writer ran the 2024 Larnaca full marathon at about 5:20 per km early on, but struggled after developing side stitches and walked the final climb by the lake. They finished in 4.14 hours and later felt pain in their right calf.

The course starts on the Finikoudes seafront promenade in front of Larnaca Town Hall and heads east.

At the 5km mark, it takes the first turnaround point at the roundabout and continues along the Piale Pasha coastal road section,

repeating the route until the 28.5km mark.

It then heads west along Artemidos Avenue, passing Salt Lake and Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque before turning at turnaround point.

The route then heads towards the Larnaca International Airport roundabout, takes the final turnaround point,

and returns to Piale Pasha coastal road, passing Larnaca Medieval Castle before finishing in front of Finikoudes Town Hall.

Overall, it is described as a flat coastal course and a course favourable for setting a personal best.

Bib is distributed from the Larnaca Municipal Welfare Centre starting three days before the race.
Required documents, proxy collection and whether same-day pickup is available could not be confirmed.

Getting to the start

Foinikoudes seafront promenade, in front of Larnaka Town Hall. No rail/metro anywhere in Cyprus.

Larnaka's town center is compact and walkable from most central hotels. budget extra time.

Larnaka Airport is only 4-5km away but part of the course runs toward the airport roundabout, so that road may be closed during race hours. Bib pickup is at a separate location (Multi-functional Center for Social Activities and Welfare, Faneromenis 62).

No road-closure timing published -- genuine gap in available info, check official site closer to race day.

Getting to the finish

Same as start -- Foinikoudes. Course heads east along the coast, turns near Larnaca Beach House (~5km), continues toward Larnaka Airport roundabout, returns via Piale Pasha past the Medieval Castle.

Kiosks, supermarkets, some bus terminals, and official Cyprus Public Transport sales points in Nicosia Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above

Alternative: Motion Card multi-day pass (2-day/3-day/7-day) €17.40 (2-day) / €26.10 (3-day) / €46.80 (7-day) — Worth it if you'll ride Nicosia buses multiple times a day for several days, e.g. shuttling to/from a race expo or start line.

Single cash fare on board is about €2.40 vs €1.80 with the Motion Card. Cyprus buses run infrequently outside main routes, so budget extra time.

Nicosia's system is run by OSEL under the national Cyprus Public Transport umbrella.

From race morning to after the finish.

The race takes place not in Nicosia but in the coastal city of Larnaca.

The start and finish are at Foinikoudes, in front of Larnaca Town Hall.

The full marathon starts at 7:00 AM with a 6-hour time limit, while the half marathon starts at 7:05 AM with a 3-hour time limit.

The course turns around the roundabout near Larnaca Beach House at the 5 km mark,

follows Larnaca–Dhekelia Avenue to Livadia Roundabout, then passes St. Lazarus Church.

From 28.5 km, it continues west alongside the Salt Lake and Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque.

After turning around Larnaca Airport Roundabout, it follows the coastal road, Piale Pasha, past the medieval fortress and returns to Foinikoudes.

Aid stations are positioned every 2.5 km, providing water, electrolyte drinks and fruit.

Race bibs are collected at the Multipurpose Social Welfare Centre under Larnaca Town Hall (62 Faneromenis Street),

with an ACS courier delivery option also available.
