The 2026 Linyi Marathon (临沂马拉松) is a road race hosted by the Linyi Municipal People's Government,

jointly organised by the Linyi Sports Bureau and the city's districts and new areas,

and operated by Guangdong Xinzhong Sports Group Co.,

Ltd. It is scheduled to receive technical certification from the Chinese Athletics Association and is guided by the Shandong Athletics Association.

The 2026 race offers a marathon and half marathon, with a total field of 26,000.

Wuzhou Lake Plaza, Linyi City

The race starts at 7:30 a.m. on November 1, 2026, from Wuzhou Lake Square (五洲湖广场) in Linyi, Shandong Province.

As of the regulations’ publication, details of the course route and the start/finish locations had not yet been announced;

the organisers said they would be released later through official channels.

The start uses wave-based corrals: the marathon assembles first, followed by half marathon, with each event divided into corrals by estimated finish time.

Corrals are spaced 10 metres apart.

The cut-off point cut-off schedule, shared by the marathon and half marathon,

is 08:25 at 5 km, 09:00 at 10 km, 09:40 at 15 km, 10:20 at 20 km and 10:30 at 21.0975 km.

The marathon cut-offs are 10:55 at 25 km, 11:45 at 30 km, 12:30 at 35 km, 13:15 at 40 km and 13:30 at 42.195 km, giving an overall time limit of six hours.

Runners exceeding cut-off point are removed from the course at course and transported back to the finish by vehicle.

Timing mats are located at the start, every 5 km, at 21.0975 km mark, turnaround point and the finish.

The finish uses high-speed electronic timing equipment certified by the Chinese Athletics Association.

Due to course conditions, only standard wheelchair athletes are accepted;

racing wheelchairs are not permitted.

Standard wheelchair athletes start at the back of the assembly area.

The total field is 26,000 runners (6,000 marathon, 20,000 half marathon).

Start at 五洲湖广场 (Wuzhou Lake Square) in Linyi's northern new district (between 北京路 and 府前路).

Linyi has no metro system.

Nearest bus stop is 行政中心 (Administrative Center), served by bus lines K11, K31, K85, K87, K9, Y001.

READY TO RUN

From race morning to after the finish.

Equipment check-in is from 06:00 to 07:20 on race day, with access to the assembly area after bib verification.

The organisers recommend arriving at least 60 minutes early, and runners may not enter course after 15 minutes have passed since the final starting gun.

Moving from a rear corral to a front corral before the start will result in cancellation of the result and ranking, plus a one-year suspension.

Baggage drop is available from 06:00 to 07:15 on race day in the designated start-area zones, organised by bib-number ranges.

Clothing must be placed in the official participant bag and labelled with the small tag matching the runner’s bib number.

The collection points close at 11:30 for half marathon and 14:30 for the marathon.

Bags not collected by then must be retrieved from the organisers within five days after the race;

postage is at the runner’s expense.

Water stations begin at 5 km and appear every 2.5 km.

Food stations are located at 12.5, 17.5, 22.5, 27.5, 32.5, 35 and 37.5 km.

The organisers said they may add aid station depending on the weather and install sprinklers for cooling.

Race materials cannot be collected by another person and will not be mailed.

Runners must collect them in person with the same ID used during registration.

Minors must be accompanied by a guardian, who must sign the participation waiver.

Bib numbers can be selected for an additional RMB 19.9.

Entry fee costs RMB 180 for the marathon and RMB 150 for half marathon, including timing chip,

a race shirt, finisher finisher medal, on-course refreshments and insurance.

Only proper athletic clothing is permitted;

decorative costumes and cosplay are prohibited.

Runners may not carry flags, banners, strollers or other items unrelated to the race.
