THE DREAM
This race will be held on November 15, 2026, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Minato Ward.
It is organized by the Minato Ward Marathon Executive Committee and the Tokyo Athletics Association, a public interest incorporated foundation.
Its stated aim is to realize an inclusive, community-based society through sport,
with broad participation open to everyone from children to older adults, regardless of nationality or disability.
The event is recruiting 5,000 participants for half marathon (4,800 general entries, 100 para-athlete entries, and 100 charity entries), 200 for the Youth Run,
and 500 Minato Ward residents for Fun Run.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“It was quite enjoyable to run past Tokyo Tower, Toranomon Hills, and Azabudai Hills.”
The runner took part in the half marathon for the first time in 5 and a half years and ran past landmarks in the city centre. The course was generally flat, but the climb in the middle and the steep slope in front of Tokyo Tower at the end were difficult. The runner’s net time was in the 1:55 range.

Read the original on masimo's blog“My time was 1 hour 39 minutes 01 seconds.”
The runner set a goal of finishing in under 100 minutes and began preparing in August, recording 1 hour 39 minutes 01 seconds. Taking into account the crowds at the start and the hill in front of Tokyo Tower at the end, the runner adjusted the pace and greatly enjoyed the extraordinary atmosphere unique to an urban race.

Read the original on note“My result was 2:06:33.”
It was an urban half marathon where the runner experienced the start and finish in front of Tokyo Tower. The runner had to climb Iikura Hill three times and tackle the steep final two stages, but most of the other sections were almost flat. The runner finished in 2:06:33.

where you cross paths with runners at a different pace;
the fact that Hibiya-dori, the start area, is the course used by runners in Sections 1 and 10 of the Hakone Ekiden;
and the presence of rolling terrain rather than a completely flat course, including before the final steep hill.
The Youth Run (approximately 3.6 km), held alongside the main race, starts near Shiba Park,
heads north on Hibiya-dori, then follows Sakurada-dori like half marathon before finishing at Tokyo Tower.
Fun Run (approximately 800 m) heads north on Hibiya-dori, turns left at the intersection in Shiba-koen 3-chome,
Minato City, and finishes at Tokyo Metropolitan Shiba Park Lot 4 (north of the Minato City Minato Library).
