RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
From the 2025 editionWe have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
The Qionghai Bo’ao Marathon follows the Wanquan River (万泉河), passes in front of the Bo’ao Forum for Asia International Convention Centre,
and then heads onto the coastal road, with the course course laid out around this flow.
In particular, an approximately 6 km section was designed to connect rural tourist attractions and island sightseeing roads along the coastline,
making it one of the race’s signature stretches through Hainan’s tropical beach scenery of palm trees and sea breezes.
However, detailed sections may be adjusted each year, so it is safest to check the official map released close to the event for the actual 2026 course.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
The race is divided into full marathon and half marathon categories.
Based on the previous edition, the field comprised 4,000 full marathon runners and 6,000 half marathon runners, for a total of 10,000 participants.
More than half of registrants came from outside Hainan, giving the race nationwide recognition.
Registration has typically opened around two months before race day through multiple online channels,
including the Hainan Daily app and the “Workers' Home” (職工之家) app, so a similar announcement is likely for 2026.
In December, Qionghai enjoys Hainan's mild winter climate, with average temperatures around 18–24°C,
making it a relatively comfortable winter marathon compared with races elsewhere in mainland China.
Times are local to Qionghai. Check the latest official information before the race.
