RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
From the 2026 editionThe 'Fall Adult Full half marathon Marathon Training Evening' in Apex, North Carolina,
is not a single race but a 16-week group training program in which the local running community prepares together for a full-distance race.
Organized by Triangle Run Smart Training and supported by pace Yourself Run Company and The Running PTs,
the program has become one of the signature offerings of the North Carolina 'Triangle' running scene spanning Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.
The program welcomes participants of all pace levels, from first-time marathoners to experienced runners aiming for a personal best.
A daily training plan is provided throughout the 16 weeks, with two coach-led weekday group runs on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.,
plus a Saturday morning long run from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. Cross-training and strength-training guidance are also included,
creating a structure focused not on training alone but on reaching the finish line alongside familiar training partners each week.
Training venues rotate among parks and trails in Apex and Cary, including Hunter Street Park, Apex Nature Park,
Mills Park Middle School track, the Koka Booth/Symphony Lake Greenway, Apex Community Park, Ritter Park, and the American Tobacco Trail.
Rather than repeatedly using a single course, the program rotates around the local area,
reflecting its focus on connecting runners with the wider community running ecosystem rather than only pursuing an individual finish time.

Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Information unavailable — this is a recurring evening training program, not a single race, and it rotates among several parks, so there is no single fixed start venue or nearby station.
This entry is a 16-week group training program (Mon/Wed evenings + Sat long runs),
not a single-day race with a fixed venue, so there is no dedicated transit info to give.
The Apex/Cary area is car-dependent suburban Raleigh;
GoTriangle buses exist on main corridors but do not reliably serve these park lots, so a personal car or rideshare is effectively required for participants.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Entry fee costs $85 for registration by July 26, 2026, increasing to $90 from July 27 through August 23.
Registration closes on August 23.
Group training takes place on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:15 PM,
rotating among the parks mentioned above, while Saturday long runs take place from 7:00 to 9:00 AM.
For questions before registering, contact Training Coordinator Kelly Svihovec (coachkelly@trianglerunsmart.com).
This program is a training course designed to prepare participants for an actual fall full/half marathon marathon race,
so it is worth confirming which goal race you are targeting before signing up.
Times are local to Apex. Check the latest official information before the race.
