The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
The course is laid out to cover FATS' signature sections.
The rolling singletrack mixes in tree roots and rocks, with some sections where you can pick up speed.
It's a favorite spot for trail runners in the southeastern United States.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I finished in 4:46:05 which was exactly where I wanted to be.”At FATS 50 km, a government shutdown forced the course onto private land for 8 laps. Holding the planned pace for the first 20 miles and mixing in brief walks later brought a finish in 4 hours 46 minutes 5 seconds.
“We had perfect weather and great trails.”At the PATS 50km, the runner tackled continuous gentle hills, with several looped course helping break the distance into manageable sections. After finishing on well-marked trails, the runner received a wooden finisher medal and wrapped up with other runners.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
