THE DREAM
Chasing a personal best or dreaming of a first finish.
This trip is built around your race.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I finished in 1 hour 39 minutes 19 seconds. Considering how little I’d been training lately, I’m very pleased.”
Nuno Cabeça ran the early climb quickly at the Cascais half marathon before gradually slowing in the second half. A time of 1 hour 39 minutes 19 seconds beat the 1-hour-40-minute goal, a satisfying result given the recent training volume.

Read the original on a vida a correr“I got in under two hours after all. That feels great!”
Fernando Andrade started the Cascais half marathon comfortably at the back and overtook the pacer at 8km. Maintaining a steady pace afterward, Andrade finished with a net time of about 1 hour 59 minutes 35 seconds and appreciated the organization and welcoming atmosphere.

RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
We have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet.
Montepio Cascais half marathon (Montepio half marathon de Cascais) is a road race that runs from Cascais Bay in Portugal to the Atlantic coast.
HMS Sports operates it in conjunction with Cascais City Hall and local sports organization CCD Cascais,
combining the half marathon, 10km, 5km, and Kids Run into one event.
The start and finish of the main race are located on Passeio Dom Luis I overlooking the bay.
The flow is that participants who gather around the bay go out to the shore and return to the same place.
Half marathon passes along Avenida Dom Carlos I and Avenida da República and connects to the Guincho coastal road.
It turns in front of the Fortaleza Hotel in Guincho and heads back toward Cascais,
passing along Avenida Rei Humberto II de Itália to reach the promenade you started from.
The route alternates between city boulevards and roads overlooking the Atlantic.
The official introduction presents the Atlantic Ocean view and the challenging course as the core of the competition.
Even if you are part of the same event, the way you encounter the city is different for each event.
The 10km race goes towards the Fort of São Jorge de Oitavos and returns to finish inside the marina, and the 5km finish is also held in Cascais Marina.
Kids Run is held separately around the bay.
Half marathon, which runs along the long outer coastal section, and the short race, which runs around the port, form one festival.
Family participants and half marathon runners gather in the same Cascais Bay,
but depending on the distance they run, they encounter different parts of the coast and port.
Not yet confirmed in the official race guide
This may change for the next edition.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Kits (including bib) for all half marathon, 10km, 5km and children's race participants will be distributed at the Nova SBE Carcavelos campus, and will not be distributed on the day of the competition.
Required documents and proxy collection regulations were not confirmed in the official guidance.

Passeio/Calçada Dom Luís I, Cascais Bay (Baía de Cascais) — nearest rail is Cascais station on CP's Linha de Cascais (commuter line from Lisboa Cais do Sodré), ~10-15min walk
Half marathon, 10km and 5km races all start at Passeio Dom Luís I in Cascais Bay; half marathon route heads out along Avenida/Estrada do Guincho before turning back. The 2027 edition is only tentatively 'early February 2027'; the last confirmed edition is 2026 (originally scheduled Feb 7-8, moved to Jan 31-Feb 1, 2026 due to presidential elections) — reconfirm the exact date closer to the event.
Same bay-front area, near the Marina de Cascais, close to Passeio Dom Luís I
Easy walk back into Cascais town center and to Cascais train station.
Câmara Municipal de Cascais traffic notices for the 2026 edition confirm municipal bus lines M03, M04, M05, M15, M27 and M43 are affected/rerouted by race-morning road closures along Avenida da República, the Baía de Cascais and Estrada do Guincho (closures ~08:00-12:00). Runners from Lisbon typically take the CP Linha de Cascais train from Cais do Sodré to Cascais station, then walk to the start/finish.

Alternative: 24-hour train+bus combined ticket approximately €11 — Worth it if combining the train with multiple bus rides in one day; for a single point-to-point ride, tapping a contactless card on the bus is simpler and likely cheaper. Contactless EMV is true on Carris Metropolitana buses (Tap&Ride system, tap the yellow validator on board); false on CP suburban trains on the Cascais Line, which have no contactless card reader.
The historic 'Scotturb' brand largely stopped operating local Cascais routes after a 2023 reorganization — Cascais's municipal buses are now 'MobiCascais,' intermunicipal routes run by Carris Metropolitana. A Viva Viagem card loaded with Lisbon 'zapping' credit does NOT work on these buses.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
From Lisbon, take the CP Cascais Line train from Cais do Sodré to Cascais station, then it's a 10–15 minute walk to the start/finish area.
After finishing, you can also walk back to the town center and the train station.
On race morning, Avenida da República, Cascais Bay, and the Estrada do Guincho area are closed to traffic from around 8:00 a.m. to noon,
and city bus routes M03, M04, M05, M15, M27, and M43 are diverted.
Race kits, including the bib, are distributed only at the Nova SBE Carcavelos campus and are not handed out on race day.
Times are local to Cascais. Check the latest official information before the race.
