THE DREAM
This women-only 10km race circles Stockholm’s Djurgården and Gärdet districts.
Around 18,000 participants from more than 40 countries take part each year.
Founded in the early 1980s, when women’s ability to run long distances was still questioned, it has become a symbol of women’s running culture in Sweden.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Look how beautiful the finisher medal we received is!”
At the Tjejmilen, a friend’s invitation brought the runner back after a long break to enter the untimed Fun Run category. Despite being slower than before, finishing and receiving the finisher medal renewed the desire to run.

Titta vilken fin medalj vi fick!!!
Read the original on En jordemors liv och lustar“Buying the bottle belt was a good call. It was handy not having to rely solely on the aid station.”
At Tjejmilen, the runner held their own pace without walking despite a blister underfoot from 4km. A final sprint brought a finish in 54 minutes 3 seconds.

Djurgården and Gärdet in Stockholm are a women-only race that is divided into two events: 10km and 6km.
It is jointly hosted by Hesselby SK and Sporwegens FK, and approximately 18,000 people from more than 40 countries participate every year.
It began in the early 1980s when the International Olympic Committee doubted women's long-distance running abilities,
and is later referred to as an event that influenced the spread of women's running culture.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Just tap a contactless bank card or phone (Apple Pay/Google Pay) directly at the metro gate or on the bus/tram reader — SL automatically caps you at a max daily fare, so you don't need to buy anything in advance for a short visit.
Official site confirms the Stockholm 10km race is on 5 September 2026 and references dedicated traffic-closure pages,
but the detailed content on tunnelbana stations, bus routes, or specific closures did not load in the fetched content.
As one of the world's largest women's races it does have a dedicated traffic-info page, but its detailed contents were not retrievable via the fetch tool used.
SL Access card
SL app, station ticket machines, or Pressbyrån/7-Eleven kiosks near major stations
Works directly at the gates
Alternative: SL 72-hour or 7-day travelcard 72h ≈ 415 SEK, 7-day ≈ 990 SEK (via SL app) — Worth it only if making many trips a day over several days;
for a typical race weekend, tapping a contactless card and letting the daily fare cap (~180 SEK/day) apply is simpler.
Contactless open-loop payment covers metro, bus, tram, SL ferries and commuter trains (pendeltåg).
A single tap-based journey is valid 75 minutes with transfers included.
Stockholm public transit (SL) is cashless: tap a contactless Visa, Mastercard, Amex,
or phone wallet directly at metro gates, buses, and trams for a 75-minute single ticket, capped at 180 SEK per day.
Alternatively buy a reloadable SL Access card at SL Centers, station machines, or convenience stores if you prefer a dedicated card.
No ticket purchase on board is possible, so tap in before boarding.

Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
T.A.
Millen is held every year in Selen in June and Stockholm in September, and this year's competition will be held in Stockholm on September 5.
Applications for participation are accepted online through the official website.
As the number of participants reaches approximately 18,000, congestion in the departure section is expected.
Times are local to Stockholm. Check the latest official information before the race.
