The road to your own record

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
It is now in its 6th year after the date, day of the week, and season were changed.
Both events are among the toughest yet most scenic course in New York State, and even in the entire United States.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I kept trailing along, keeping them in my site as long as I could.”At the Tromptown half marathon, the runner intended an easy training effort but chased a time after the start, raising their pace. Despite hip pain and foot cramps late on, they finished in 1 hour 53 minutes 1 second, a 2-minute PR.
“I didn’t take my walk breaks.”At the Tromptown half marathon, the runner planned 5 minutes running and 1 minute walking but started fast and skipped walk breaks. Poorly timed meals for the evening race and depleted fuel around mile 8 prompted a rethink of fueling for next time.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.
