RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
From the 2026 editionStart line is held at Arena O Canto da Cidade.
The event is split over two days: the 5 km and 10 km races start on Saturday, while half marathon and full marathon each start at 5:00 a.m. on Sunday.
Salvador is a coastal city in northeastern Brazil, bordered by the Bay of All Saints (Baía de Todos os Santos) to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.
The city developed along steep slopes, divided into the Upper City (Cidade Alta) and Lower City (Cidade Baixa),
and was founded in 1549 by Tomé de Sousa as the seat of Brazil's first colonial government.
The historic Pelourinho district, with its surviving colonial architecture, is regarded as one of the city's landmarks.
Full marathon and half marathon are scheduled for Sunday, with the 5 km and 10 km races taking place on Saturday,
so runners entering multiple distances should plan for a two-day schedule.
Not yet confirmed in the official race guide
This may change for the next edition.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
It will be held for two days, Thursday and Friday, in the form of an expo, and the specific operating hours have not yet been announced.
9/24 (Thu)–9/25 (Fri)
Pay cash to the driver/conductor — it's accepted on every bus and is by far the easiest option, since the SalvadorCard requires a Brazilian CPF that tourists don't have.
Metrô Linha 2, Estação Imbuí — ~28-min walk to Centro de Convenções Salvador
IMPORTANT: for 2026 the concentration/start/finish moved to Centro de Convenções Salvador (Boca do Rio),
replacing the long-time venue Arena O Canto da Cidade in Barra, due to Parque dos Ventos requalification works and Arena Balbinão construction —
confirmed via city government announcement.
same venue — Centro de Convenções Salvador
Finish is at Centro de Convenções Salvador, new for 2026.
No official race shuttle found for 2026.
Local city bus lines serving the Convention Center area (general transit data, not race-specific): 0125, 1007, 1034, 1053, 1719, 879.
IMPORTANT: older race reports/Transalvador notices describing parking/closures at 'Farol da Barra' or 'Praça de Piatã' refer to the previous venue and do NOT apply to 2026 —
do not use them.
SalvadorCard (Bilhete Avulso is the basic version)
SalvadorCard service centers, accredited retail network, or reload terminals in malls (Barra, Bela Vista, Paralela, etc.) —
costs R$8.20, purchase requires a Brazilian CPF
Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above
Bus fare is R$5.90 (2026).
Paying cash means full fare each boarding (no free transfer — cash riders pay an extra R$1.40 per transfer that SalvadorCard holders get free),
but for a one-off race trip that's a minor cost.
Salvador's Metro (a separate, non-integrated system from buses) has accepted contactless Visa/Mastercard tap directly at station turnstiles since 2023 —
don't confuse metro contactless (works) with buses (cash only in practice).
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Salvador has a tropical rainforest climate with trade winds (Köppen Af), so temperatures vary little throughout the year.
In September, the average high is 27.7°C, the average low is 21.5°C and average monthly rainfall is 99.3mm.
That is wetter than the driest months, December and January, but drier than April to June.
All distances start early, at 5:00 a.m. Runners set off before sunrise and cover a substantial part of the course before temperatures rise.
Registration is split between the 5km and 10km on Saturday and half marathon and full marathon on Sunday.
Anyone entering more than one distance should plan for travel and accommodation across both days.
Times are local to Salvador. Check the latest official information before the race.
