Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I wanted to run a little faster on the very flat course, but it was harder than expected because I had to run alone from the start.”
Jakob Dieterich won the Novaled Citylauf Dresden 5K in 14:07, 19 seconds faster than the previous year. He said the course was very flat but harder than expected because he had to run alone from the start, and rated the scenery in Dresden as the most beautiful road-race route he knows.

Ich hatte gehofft, auf der superflachen Strecke noch ein bisschen schneller zu laufen, aber weil ich von Anfang an allein laufen musste, war es härter als erwartet.
Read the original on Laufen.de“I picked up the pace over the final kilometer and crossed the finish in a new personal best of 45 minutes, 59 seconds.”
The writer trained throughout the winter for the 2017 Citylauf Dresden 10K. On a cold, windy, rainy day, they ran the 5K loop course twice, then picked up the pace over the final kilometer to finish with a personal best of 45:59.

Novaled Citylauf Dresden is a spring race that opens the German road-racing season, with its 37th edition taking place on Sunday 21 March 2027.
The 36th edition in 2026 set a new all-time participation record.
The main events are the 10km and 5km races, alongside a 2km children's race and a 450m toddlers' race.
The start and finish are on Terrassenufer beside Augustusbrücke.
The 5km lap course crosses the Elbe via Marienbrücke towards Neustadt,
then follows Große Meißner Straße and Wigardstraße past Augustusbrücke, the Goldener Reiter and the Saxon State Chancellery to Albertbrücke.
It crosses the river again via Albertbrücke, passes through Sachsenplatz and returns to Terrassenufer.
The 10km runners complete this loop twice.
The 5km and 10km course are officially measured and recognised for national and international results.
The organisers also describe them as fast course suitable for setting a good time.
The 10km course record list includes Dariusz Kruczkowski's 28:15 in 2001 and Purity Gitonga's 31:40 in 2024.
Samba and drumming continue along course.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
The start and finish are both at Terrassenufer near Augustusbrücke in Dresden's Old Town. The nearest tram stop is Sachsenallee, approximately a 4-minute walk away; Theaterplatz and Altmarkt tram stops are also nearby
