THE DREAM
The 2026 Jangsu Night Trail is an overnight trail race held August 15-16, 2026, based at Jangsu Sports Complex in Jeollabuk-do.
It's run as 38K-P (time limit 10 hours) and 14K (time limit 6 hours), two course.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I ended the race after being caught by time limit at the Jagogae WP.”
The runner took part in the 38K, but exceeded the time limit at Jagogae and had to stop. Their pace dropped on the Palgongsan climb, and they reinjured their ankle on the dark descent. After returning in the sweep vehicle, the runner resolved to recover, train and try again.

The runner completed a first trail race, the 14K, in 3:20:21. An early bottleneck and tall grass slowed the runner down, and the runner rolled an ankle on the final steep descent. After finishing, the runner enjoyed gukbap and an ice bath.

The runner started while considering dropping out because of a lower-back injury, but completed the 38K in 10:30. Their legs cramped during the final 5K and it rained heavily, but they made it to the finish while taking in Jangsu’s night scenery.

“We kept meeting and parting ways, but in the end, I held hands with Jun-young and completed the 38K journey together.”
The runner finished the 38K in 7 hours 54 minutes. They fell on the rain-soaked mountain trail and briefly went off course on the way to Sadubong. They ran with a teammate in the second half and crossed the finish line in the quiet early morning.

The runner completed the 38K, but started cramping around 20 km and struggled because the heart rate was not recovering well. The runner ate plenty at the Sumunmaeul aid station, and the night view was beautiful. It felt more like a night training run than a chance to enjoy natural scenery, but the runner was glad to do it with the crew.

Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
The headquarters of the competition is Jangsu Stadium in Jangsu-gun, Jeollabuk-do. The 14K section takes a shuttle bus from the headquarters and departs from Tteunbongsaem Ecological Park (20:00).
38K departs from near headquarters at 19:00. No public transportation information as it is a rural area. There is no subway access to the rural area of Jangsu-gun, Jeollabuk-do.
Date matches 2026-08-15 (Sat).
Held in Jangsu County, a rural mountainous part of Jeollabuk-do with no subway — car or intercity bus is the main way in. Local buses accept T-money, Korea's standard nationwide rechargeable transit card, available at convenience stores, though car access is typical for this small-town night trail event.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
It's a midsummer competition. Heat and humidity are big variables.
Even if you start early, don't skip the water and avoid being too greedy for recording.
The distance is short so the burden is not great, but as long as you watch out for the initial over pace, it is enough to complete the course.
Times are local to Jangsu. Check the latest official information before the race.
