THE DREAM
This is the 23rd edition of a 10K held in Tsuen Wan, Hong Kong.
It's introduced as a summer challenge race and is listed on the Hong Kong Marathon Pro (HKMP) calendar.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“Looking at my watch data, I managed my pace well this time. My speed was almost the same each km, so the hill training paid off.”
When the Pegasus Tsuen Wan 10km was called the Cheung Hing Cup, the runner returned from injury and ran the crowded course at a calm pace. A brief slowdown around 6km was recovered later for a 50-minute finish, followed by a chat with a runner who shared the last 1km.

The Pegasus Tsuen Wan 10K Super Summer Challenge is a 10K held every late summer by Hong Kong Marathon Promotion (HKMP).
The 23rd edition took place on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
It's set on the Shing Mun Reservoir catchwater in Tsuen Wan, New Territories, with runners gathering about 300m above the tea pavilion for the start.
The course is a 10km out-and-back: 5km along the flat, winding catchwater, one turn, and back.
It starts at 8:15 a.m., with a time limit of 1 hour 30 minutes.
There are two categories, Competitive and 10K.
The Competitive category requires a finish time from a certified race run after January 1, 2025, and fills on a first-come, first-served basis.
There's also a team competition for groups of 3, and teams can mix runners from both categories.
The entry fee was HK$300, of which HK$20 went to a marine conservation fund.
In 2026, 800 runners started and 781 finished (a 97.6 percent finish rate), and in hot conditions the men's race was won in 33:09 and the women's in 37:33.
Both winners were defending champions.
ASICS, Pocari Sweat and AirFly sponsored the winners' prizes, and breaking the course record earns a HK$3,000 bonus.
With just one turnaround point, runners further back also get to see the leaders coming the other way.

MTR Tsuen Wan Station (terminus of the Tsuen Wan Line), then Green Minibus (GMB) route 82 toward Shing Mun Reservoir
Race is held at the Tai Lam Aqueduct / Shing Mun Reservoir area near Tsuen Wan (out-and-back course, 5km each way). From Tsuen Wan MTR station, GMB minibus route 82 runs directly to the Shing Mun Reservoir terminus in about 15 minutes.
Same as start — Shing Mun Reservoir, reached via GMB 82 from MTR Tsuen Wan Station.
Out-and-back course finishing back at the reservoir/aqueduct area.
GMB minibus route 82, runs 06:15-21:00 at 8-25 min intervals.
Octopus Card
At Hong Kong International Airport: MTR Customer Service Centres in the arrivals hall, counters by the Airport Express platforms, 24/7 self-service vending machines, or the 7-Eleven in the Arrivals hall. Also available at almost any MTR station and convenience stores citywide.
Works directly at the gates Alternative: MTR Tourist Day Pass USD 9.60 (approx.
HK$75) — Only worth it if you're packing in 5+ MTR-only rides in a single day, since it excludes Airport Express, Light Rail first class, and doesn't cover buses/trams/ferries the way Octopus does. Airport/MTR counters sell the Octopus card for HKD cash only, so have Hong Kong dollars ready.
The 'Tourist' Octopus starts from HK$39 with no refundable deposit. Foreign Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay contactless cards can tap directly at designated light-blue 'Contactless Payment' gates for MTR and Airport Express rides — but only at adult fares, and it doesn't cover Light Rail, MTR buses, or High Speed Rail.
Octopus, by contrast, works across the whole system: MTR, Airport Express, buses, minibuses, taxis, the street tram, Star Ferry, and outlying-island ferries. Use an Octopus card, Hong Kong's universal contactless transit card, for the MTR, buses, trams and ferries.
Buy one at any MTR station or 7-Eleven for HK$150, or get a Tourist Octopus online for about HK$97 with HK$50 preloaded, and top up with cash at MTR add-value machines or convenience stores. Single MTR/bus fares run roughly HK$3-30 depending on distance; Tsuen Wan sits directly on the MTR Tsuen Wan Line, so the card covers the trip straight to the race area.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
In 2026, bib pickup was a week before the race, on Sunday, August 23 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Monday,
August 24 from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., on the 20th floor of 19 Hung To Road, Kwun Tong.
There's no race-morning pickup, so if you're flying into Hong Kong just before the race, plan around the pickup dates first.
The catchwater start is hard to reach directly by car, so the organizers run shuttle buses.
In 2026 they left Tin Hau MTR station at 6:20 a.m. and the YMCA on Hankow Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, at 6:35 a.m.;
tickets cost HK$40 per person, had to be bought with your entry and were limited to one per person.
Staying around Causeway Bay and Tin Hau or in Tsim Sha Tsui makes catching the shuttle easy.
According to Hong Kong Observatory normals, August averages a high of 31.3°C and a low of 26.7°C,
with 81 percent average humidity and more than 450mm of rain in the month, so showers are frequent.
The 2026 race was also run in sweltering heat.
Even with an 8:15 a.m. start it's already hot, so hydrate before the start,
and unless you're in the Competitive category it's safer to take the first 5km easy and pick up the pace after the turn.
Times are local to Hong Kong. Check the latest official information before the race.
