THE DREAM
The Cape Town edition of the Totalsports Women’s Race, South Africa’s largest women’s running festival, held to mark National Women’s Day (August 9).
It began in the Western Cape in 2001 and later expanded to Johannesburg and Durban.
It is a day when a pink wave sweeps through the city and mothers and daughters run together.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
No runner reports yet. We'll add them here as they come in.
Preview the course and read what runners who went before you wrote.

RACE WEEK
Know the course and time limit, and race day comes into focus.
From the 2026 editionWe have not confirmed the start line coordinates yet. The map shows the host city.
The event offers two distances: 10km (starting at 8:00 a.m.) and 5km (8:30 a.m.).
This urban course starts on Darling Street and finishes at Grand Parade Square, where runners meet finish.
Now a signature event of the Women’s Day holiday weekend, it sells out early every year;
the 2026 edition also sold out in advance.

Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
Get a myconnect card (MyCiTi's reloadable transit card) from a station kiosk for around R40, then load it with Mover pay-as-you-go value or a multi-day pass — this is the most reliable way to ride the MyCiTi bus network as a visitor.
Darling Street, Cape Town CBD
Official event page (confirmed via web search since direct fetch was 403-blocked) and a running-calendar aggregator both state the 2026 Cape Town leg starts at Darling Street.
Green Point Stadium is NOT mentioned as the venue anywhere in official race materials found.
VENUE DISCREPANCY vs. Race was part of a 3-city Women's Month series.
Some Green Point Stadium parking guidance exists online but belongs to a different Cape Town race (SPAR Women's Challenge, held in March) —
deliberately excluded here to avoid misattributing it to this event.
Grand Parade, Cape Town CBD
Finish confirmed at Grand Parade per official event page and secondary aggregator.
Only a Google Maps link to Grand Parade was found — no dedicated parking or public transport section on the official page.
No shuttle info found.
No parking information published on the official race page.

Not accepted at the gates — get the local card above
Alternative: 1-Day / 3-Day / 7-Day Pass (loaded onto a myconnect card) —
Worth it if you'll take 3+ MyCiTi rides in a day, e.g. combining airport transfer, race expo, and sightseeing trips.
MyCiTi's own site states EMV (bank card) fare payment was discontinued as of 4 December 2025 in favor of the revamped myconnect card system —
so don't rely on tapping a foreign bank card.
MyCiTi mainly serves the CBD, Atlantic seaboard, and airport route (A01);
it does not cover the whole metro, so many runners also use Uber/Bolt.
Green Point Stadium in Cape Town is reachable via the MyCiTi bus network,
which uses a reloadable MyConnect smart card (tap-to-pay, topped up at station kiosks and retailers) or a single-trip card for one-off journeys,
both bought at any MyCiTi station kiosk.
Contactless bank cards are not accepted directly, so buy a card first.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Darling Street, start line, is in the heart of Cape Town’s CBD and can be reached on foot from city-center hotels.
It is also close to the Civic Centre stop on the MyCiTi bus network.
Because entries sell out quickly, check the registration opening date on the official website in advance and sign up promptly.
Times are local to Cape Town. Check the latest official information before the race.
