The Ageo City half marathon starts and finishes at Ageo Undo Koen Athletic Stadium,

with a course that starts in the city and crosses lush, green suburban areas.

It's a flat course with very little elevation change, ranging from just 10m to 19m,

and its credibility is further boosted by being a certified official course under World Athletics (WA) and the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF).

The race is known for drawing many universities that compete in the Hakone Ekiden,

making it a rare chance for everyday runners to watch top collegiate athletes preparing for the Hakone Ekiden up close.

Getting to the start

JR Takasaki Line — Ageo Station

The venue is Ageo Sports Park Athletics Stadium (上尾運動公園陸上競技場). From Ageo Station, it's about a 20-minute walk, or take the city loop bus 'Guruttokun' from Ageo Station East Exit and get off at Ageo Athletic Park (1 min walk).

The city is confirmed as Ageo City (上尾市), Saitama. Approximately a 20-minute walk from Ageo Station on the JR Takasaki Line.

Runner parking is available by advance application on a first-come, first-served basis, with space for 500 cars.

while the 5km category and the Junior Challenge Run were still accepting entries.

For access, it's about a 20-minute walk from Ageo Station on the JR Takasaki Line,

or you can take a city loop bus from the station's east exit to a stop right in front of Ageo Undo Koen, just a 1-minute walk away.

By car, it's about 30 minutes from the Yono IC on the Shuto Expressway Saitama-Omiya Route,

or about 20 minutes from the Okegawa-Kano IC on the Ken-O Expressway.
