The road to your own record

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.
THE DREAM
Runners race across Lantau Island, the largest island in Hong Kong.
Situated at the mouth of the Pearl River, the island offers sweeping scenery throughout.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“I was smiling when I reached and crossed the Finish Line!”At TransLantau 100 km, a slow start and a strategy of eating and resting at aid stations helped the runner tackle steep stone steps. Searching for trail markers cost about 30 minutes late on, but they finished smiling in 28 hours 50 minutes 11 seconds.
“I completed in a much better state than last year 50km and I guess I m more mentally prepared for this year.”At TransLantau 100 km, the runner power-hiked with poles through thick fog and steep stone steps. Running became difficult later, but a final return to running brought a first mountain 100 km finish in 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds.
We translated a short line from each public race report and summarized the experience. Finish times are as stated by the author, and past editions may differ from this year's weather and operations.

The Trans Lantau 100km category starts at night from Silvermine Bay (Ngau Kwu Long) in Mui Wo, Lantau Island.
The course follows the South Lantau Country Trail to Pak Kung Au, then climbs Lantau Peak (Fung Wong Shan, 934m),
the second-highest peak in Hong Kong, via the Fung Wong Terrace (Phoenix Trail).
It then crosses Sunset Peak (Tai Tung Shan, 854m), passes in front of Po Lin Monastery,
the symbol of Lantau Island, and continues through the Ngong Ping plateau.
Around dawn, runners reach the fishing village of Tai O, famous for its colorful stilt houses,
and about 80% of the entire course consists of singletrack made up of old stone steps and narrow mountain paths,
giving a genuine sense of the raw terrain changes across the two country parks it passes through.
Pick up your bib, check your wave.
So on race morning, you can just run.
For the UTMB World Series competition, race packs are usually distributed at designated reception locations the weekend before the competition, and a 30L bag for drop bag is also provided upon receipt.
The pick-up location and date for the 2026 edition will be announced on the official Race Pack page.

City field in DB is 香港 (Hong Kong).
Mui Wo Ferry Pier
Finish is also in Mui Wo; return via the same ferry (to Central) or bus 3M to Tung Chung MTR.
Your start time, fuel and bag drop.
Know them ahead and the run feels easier.
Registration is done online through the UTMB World Series system, and some categories require UTMB Index points.
On the section that requires travel from Tung Chung to an off-island aid station, a transfer via a red urban taxi may be necessary.
In mid-November, Lantau Island has a large day-night temperature difference,
and strong winds at the mountain summits can make the wind chill drop significantly, so windproof and cold-weather gear must be prepared.
The event is held over three days, from November 13 to 15, split by distance.
Times are local to Hong Kong. Check the latest official information before the race.
