The road to your own record
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.

The city you want to run becomes your next trip.

THE DREAM
A half marathon held at the Watarase Retarding Basin, Japan's largest retarding basin, which spans the four prefectures of Tochigi, Gunma, Saitama and Ibaraki.
The course circles the heart-shaped Lake Yanaka on flat embankment paths, and four events —
half marathon, 10km, 5km and 2km — are held together every year on a Sunday in late September.
Picture the course in advance
and find the pace that fits you.
Streets lined with cheers, runners all around.
You'll be part of that scene.
Take it slow with the finish still in you,
and meet the city all over again.
From the joy of finishing to the tough moments — read what runners wrote themselves.
“My self-recorded time was 1 hour 46 minutes 42 seconds, which was a solid result.”
The runner took part in a half marathon in 2025 and finished in 1 hour 46 minutes 42 seconds. It was a course consisting of three laps around the west side of the reservoir. The runner felt the heat and humidity, then increased their pace in the latter stages to finish.

Read the original on イサーンで走りたい!“The race consists of three laps on a course that is slightly longer than 7 km, and the third lap used to be difficult.”
The runner took part in the half marathon for the third time in 2023. Despite not feeling in good shape, they tested a pace of 3:36 per kilometer, battling a north wind and sore soles to complete the three-lap course.

この大会は1周7kmより少し長い距離を3周走るのですが、過去は3周目に苦しんできました。
Read the original on 57歳のマラソンライフ“The course was extremely flat, so it was very easy to run.”
The runner took part in the half marathon, running a flat course of four 5.4km laps. The first two laps went fast, but the pace dropped from the third lap on; colleagues and the runner's son also finished, making it an enjoyable day.
